Andrea Bocelli Warms Hearts This Holiday Season With Incanto

The beloved superstar Andrea Bocelli continues to capture the hearts of music lovers this holiday season with his latest MCA Music CD, Incanto . People Magazine recently raved, "these passionately sung songs will surely put a little romanza in the air." Along with critical accolades, a string of memorable appearances this fall have marked another successful chapter in Andrea Bocelli's remarkable career.  Incanto's CD launch began with an unforgettable performance on The Oprah Winfrey Show, where Andrea treated audiences to soaring renditions of "Because" and old favorite "The Prayer." Two additional moving TV performances followed on Good Morning America and CBS Early Show.  In late November, Andrea wrapped up two once–in–a–lifetime concerts with the incomparable Placido Domingo at the Washington National Opera, collaborating on the Petite Messe Solennelle, with Mr. Domingo conducting. Prior to the performances, NPR's All Things Considered featured Domingo and Bocelli in an exclusive joint interview to discuss these historical concerts, and the artists' respective impact on classical music.   The spotlight continues to shine on Andrea this December, a special documentary entitled, "Andrea Bocelli – A Child Destined To Sing." Will air in the US . Capturing Andrea's musical and personal life journey, the film features rare, behind–the–scenes footage and ...

Maroon 5 Songs Get Remixed

Multi-platinum  Grammy  winning  quintet MAROON 5 releases  Call & Response: The Remix Album,  an exhilarating 18-track  mix  tape that features  Pharrell Williams,  Deerhoof, of Montreal, Cool Kids, David Banner, Paul Oakenfold and many more putting new twists on several of the band’s biggest hits. “I’ve always found it really interesting that a group of people looking at the same painting can all see different things,” says Maroon 5 vocalist/guitarist Adam Levine. “That was the idea behind this record—to take a few of our songs and have them interpreted by some of our favorite artists. We were really blown away by what they came up with.” CALL & RESPONSE: THE REMIX ALBUM pulsates with provocative renditions of songs culled from Maroon 5’s hugely successful debut, SONGS ABOUT JANE and its predecessor IT WON’T BE SOON BEFORE LONG. The two albums have made Maroon 5 one of the most successful bands to emerge this decade, with more than 14 million worldwide sales, a remarkable string of chart-topping hit singles, a trio of Grammy wins and an international fan base whose members number in the millions. Fall Out Boy: Folie A Deux Album

"Honestly, we have never been a critically acclaimed band or 'cool' band, but we have always moved the needle because of our fans and we don't want that to change."  Fall Out Boy bassist/lyricist Pete Wentz wrote that blog entry a few weeks before finishing "Folie à Deux," the band's fourth full-length album. Although the group has grown exponentially in its seven-year existence--from an opening band at VFW Halls to headlining arenas and topping the music charts--there's a consistency to the group that can't be measured simply by record or ticket sales.  "Folie" may not initially sound like the same band that was berthed in the Chicago punk/hardcore scene, but it inhabits the same spirit. It's adventurous, vibrant and, catchy--all characteristics that the band and its fan base have come to expect over the last decade. Remarkably, "Folie à Deux" feels both like result of seven years of hard work and something that could only be produced right now.  It's both cynical and hopeful, lyrically and musically challenging, personal and political, and easily the most diverse record FOB has ever recorded. This is what "Folie" isn't: a "grown up" record (read: boring, middle-of-the-road); if anything, the album--whose title translates as "a ...

The Killers Day & Age

Inspiration has never eluded The Killers, and it’s a damn good thing it hasn’t, because the Las Vegas band’s newest record, their third studio album, Day & Age, is full of their finest songs to date.  "I think about moments when we were coming up with When You Were Young, or, in this case, Spaceman," Brandon Flowers says. "If we'd decided at that moment, 'Let's go to the park,' they might not have happened. It's scary. It almost makes me not want to stop because I could be missing out on these wonderful songs. They're out there for the taking—you've just got to grab them." Together with bassist Mark Stoermer, guitarist Dave Keuning, and drummer Ronnie Vannucci, Flowers helped to mold the album into ten songs that work best together as a whole, each individually describing an evolution of the band's sound. "We're always pushing ourselves," says Stoermer, "and there's a lot of diversity here—from anthemic rock to dance songs."  Flowers adds: "We felt like Sam's Town was a continuation of Hot Fuss, and we feel like this is a continuation of Sam's Town.  But at the same time, Day and Age is totally different from both of them, while still ...

Miguel Escueta Adds A Modern Flair to an Old Hit

With  the  success   of his songs “Handa”, “Isipin” and “Falling Away” still fresh, there’s no stopping  Miguel Escueta from making waves in the music scene. Fervor seeps through the veins of this rock star as he brings in a new single: his own rendition of the 80’s crossover hit “Blue Monday”, which was originally popularized by the English Rock Group ‘New Order’. This song has been deemed as the biggest selling single of all time, topping UK sales of over one million and making a mark in the 80’s era. Injected with his distinctive style, Miguel, also popularly known as “ME”, l gives his own version a modern twist, making it more attuned with the times. The mishmash of syndicating beats and throbbing bass lines infused with Miguel’s vigor gives his rendition of the song a strong kick that will surely leave audiences keyed up. Though penetrating the music scene is not an easy feat, Miguel had already managed to make a mark in the industry in recent past. In 2005, he was nominated for Best New Male Recording at the 2005 Awit Awards. The reason behind this singer-songwriter’s drive to achieve the pinnacle of his career stems from his deep ...

The Return of AXL Rose: Guns N’ Roses Declares The Democracy of China

Rock  and  Roll must have the power to grant immortality because it makes artists who choose to stay under its wings stand the test of time. First there is legendary rock group Metallica, that even after several years of silence, was able to hit gold with Death Magnetic. Now, MCA Music Inc. is proud to announce the comeback of Guns N Roses with their new album, CHINESE DEMOCRACY! Axl Rose resurrects to lead a new pack of rockers to remind all listeners across nations about his legacy and to mark a new historic moment in Rock and Roll. Produced by the front man himself, Axl Rose and Caram Costanzo, Chinese Democracy includes 14 tracks.  The title track and first single from the album, “Chinese Democracy”, takes on a slightly different sound. It starts off theatrically with Chinese-inspired sound effects, includes less of Axl Rose’ signature high-pitched renditions and more of head banging solos, yet, still tastefully rock and roll. Guns N Roses also keep up with the times by releasing two of the album’s songs unconventionally. “Shackler’s Revenge” will be included in the emerging popular videogame Rock Band 2 and “If the World” will also be release through the movie, Body ...
